A focused half-day visit (3-5h in length), sharing the vision of the Fortissimo Youth Initiative. 

Chamber Music Reading

All students are invited to take part in a chamber music reading session of music from a specific musical period or genre, collaborating with me and other faculty who wish to participate.

Masterclass

The students will take part in a masterclass focused on a specific period or genre. Solo and chamber works are welcome.  An informal Q&A with musical examples and constructive dialogue will follow. 

Orchestra

By sitting as concertmaster in a rehearsal, I will be assist the music director with the preparation of the program for an upcoming orchestral performance. Putting in bowings, giving advice and assisting in the technical elements needed to put on a successful concert.

Fortissimo Residency

This 3-5 day program combines traditional pedagogical activities with our innovative format centered around on-stage collaboration with students. This format is well-suited for Youth Orchestra retreats and intensive programs as well as University Orchestras with a compact rehearsal schedule. Serving as the core of a week-long set of educational activities and performances, the Fortissimo Workshop can be the connecting thread of an exciting musical adventure across all departments focused on a specific period, culminating with the Youth/University Orchestra’s final performance.

Orchestra

Chamber Music Readings

Following each masterclass, students are invited to take part in a chamber music reading session of music from the same period, collaborating with me and school faculty who wish to participate. An informal Q&A with musical examples and constructive dialogue between all parties will conclude this activity.  

Masterclasses and private lessons

The students will take part in multiple masterclasses, each day focused on a different period. Solo and chamber works are welcome. They will also be able to sign up for 1-on-1 lessons with me.

Outreach

Musical visits and side-by-side chamber music performances will take place in coordination with local organizations, nursing homes, hospitals and schools. 

Final Performance

An orchestra performance led by Francisco as concertmaster and/or soloist with a program to be coordinated with the Music Director.
